When I want to escape the loud, dirty streets of NYC I head to the Met and visit the Temple of Dendur. It is one of my favorite places in the MET. I have been coming to this gallery for 20 years and I always feel peacefully transported to another era. Dated back to the reign of Augustus Caesar it is a gift from Egypt (1965) and dates back to around 15 B.C. Hard to believe these Aeolian Sandstone temples are sitting on 83rd street in NYC.

MET sculpture garden on a sunny day. So peaceful and beautiful. Great place to have a drink and people watch people enjoying art.
